Cancellation Policy
Due to the limited number of sessions I offer a day and the previously high number of clients rescheduling their sessions the day before their sessions, I have implemented a cancellation and rescheduling policy.
Rescheduling or earlier cancellation is greatly appreciated so I can ensure I keep a full schedule and can manage my small business and my finances effectively.
All virtual sessions may be rescheduled one time if they are rescheduled at least 24 hours before the virtual session is scheduled to start.
All in-person sessions, regardless of booking method, may be rescheduled or canceled up to 24 hours prior to the start of the appointment.
No-Shows and Late Cancellations
Any no-shows (booking an appointment and not showing up) and late cancellations (cancellations made less than 24 hours before your session is scheduled to begin) will be charged the full price of the service you booked and a small service charge for processing your payment online, using the card you used to reserve your service. When you book a service in my online calendar, you agree that if you do not show up to your appointment or cancel with less than 24 hours' notice, you give permission to Messages with Mara to charge your card on file for the full price of the service you booked and a small service charge for processing your payment online. In the case of no shows or late cancellations with no communication from the person who booked the service, Messages with Mara will wait 24 hours after your service was scheduled to begin before charging the card on file.
Any pre-paid appointments that are no-shows or late cancellations will not be refunded.
Rescheduling an Appointment (with no charge)
For virtual sessions that do not request any work from Messages with Mara prior to your session (video call with Mara), you can reschedule one time, up to 24 hours before your appointment begins without being charged for the appointment you booked. You will receive a reminder email 6 days and 2 days before your session. If you need to reschedule, please do so 24 hours before the session.
For in-person sessions, you can reschedule up to 24 hours before your appointment begins without being charged for the original appointment time you booked. You will receive a reminder email 6 days and 2 days before your session. If you need to reschedule, please do so 24 hours before the session.
In Case of Illness and Emergencies
If you (or someone in your family that you need to care for) becomes ill on the day or your appointment and you are not able to give advance notice, please contact Mara at Messages with Mara as soon as possible. Please do not come to an appointment when you or someone close to you is sick.
In case of emergency or illness with less than 24-hour notice of cancellation, I'll reschedule your session one time at no extra cost. If you cancel the rescheduled session, are a no-show at the rescheduled session, or need to do a late cancellation a second time for the same session that was already rescheduled once, you will be subject to the full price of your session.

Winter Weather
If winter driving conditions make it unsafe for us to travel during the date of the session, we will plan to make your session virtual. If bad weather is expected, I’ll be reaching out to you to discuss details.
